Shiladitya Bora with Vinay Pathak
Producer Shiladitya Bora backed acclaimed films Masaan (2015) and Newton (2017) during his stint at Drishyam Films, before branching out as an indie filmmaker and bankrolling Sir (2018). Now, the producer is expanding his skill set by turning director with Bhagwan Bharose. The drama, featuring Vinay Pathak and Masumeh Makhija, was recently wrapped up in Deogarh, Jharkhand.
For Bora, Bhagwan Bharose marks the realisation of his dream. "Many a time, I came close to directing my first feature, but failed. Finally, after a wait of close to 20 years, I wrapped up the shoot of my directorial debut. You need divine intervention to pull off a film independently, and I got that in abundance," he says. The director adds that if all goes well, the coming-of-age drama will reach the audiences before 2022-end. Pathak, who describes the movie as a sweet and special story, adds, "I'm lucky to be a part of Shiladitya's first directorial venture. May this be the start of his illustrious journey."
