Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani
Actress Sara Ali Khan and actor Ranveer Singh, notable for their on-screen chemistry in Rohit Shetty's cop comedy Simmba, have rejoined forces. However, this time, their reunion is not for a sequel or a new movie where they play the lead roles but for a special song sequence in Ranveer's recent film, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. This romantic comedy marks another directorial venture by Karan Johar, after an absence from the directorial chair for seven years.
In an unexpected and exciting turn, Sara Ali Khan appears in a cameo role in Heartthrob, the film's introductory song. This high-energy club number is designed to introduce Singh's character, Rocky, to the audience. For this sequence, Sara dons a sleek black dress, a fitting contrast to Singh's sparkling black jacket. The pair's on-screen camaraderie is palpable as they light up the dance floor, much like their previous collaboration in Simmba.

Sara chose to announce her surprise cameo to her fans by sharing behind-the-scenes pictures from the song on her Instagram account. Her post came a day after the film's release. The caption of her post, "Mera Simmba, Sabka Rocky. Dahadte raho," - "my Simmba, everybody's Rocky, keep roaring!" alongside fire and lion emojis, referenced their previous partnership in Simmba and Singh's current role. Ranveer Singh dropped heart emojis in the comments.
In her 2018 debut, Sara was cast opposite Singh in Simmba, where Singh played the eponymous role of a Goa police officer. Their sizzling chemistry in the movie, particularly during the dance number Aankh Marey, a reinvented version of a popular song from the '90s, won over audiences. Their reunion for a dance number in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani serves as a nostalgic treat for their fans.
Sara's younger brother, Ibrahim Ali Khan also worked on the sets of Rocky Aur Rani as an Assistant Director.
Although several other prominent actors shared the stage with Singh in his introductory song such as Ananya Panday, Janhvi Kapoor, and Varun Dhawan, none of them have yet disclosed their experiences or shared snapshots from the filming. Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, which boasts a star-studded cast, including Alia Bhatt, Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, and Shabana Azmi, has made a strong debut, raking in â¹11 crore on its opening day at the box office. The film's promising start indicates its potential to be a box-office hit, and fans are eagerly anticipating its legacy as a classic big-screen Bollywood entertainer.
