With Ghoomer, Saiyami Kher and director R Balki celebrate the triumph of the human spirit as they tell the story of a para-athlete who fulfils her dream of playing for the national cricket team. It was important then that the sports drama reached those whose inspiring journeys shaped the story. On Wednesday night, Kher, in association with the Differently-abled Cricket Council of India (DCCI), hosted a screening for the differently-abled cricketers of India, in Bandra.
It turns out that after the film's release, the DCCI reached out to the team, congratulating them for showcasing a story that would inspire many para-athletes. The makers and Kher immediately expressed their desire to arrange a special screening for the sports stars. The leading lady says, "The dedication and resilience of these
athletes are inspiring. I'm humbled to be a part of a film that resonated with them. Their stories are part of what we wanted to show in the movie. I'm honoured that the DCCI and BCCI [Board of Control for Cricket in India] gave us this opportunity to show the film to the people who matter."
