Barely two months since launching his production house Pushing Buttons Studios with partner Richa Chadha, Ali Fazal has zeroed in on its second venture. Fazal, who has made inroads into Hollywood with films like Victoria & Abdul (2017) and Death on the Nile, is now set to produce an Indo-American project. Buzz is that the actor-producer has greenlit a dramedy, which is the brainchild of an Indian and two American screenwriters.
A source reveals, "The project went into development this January. The writers are currently locking the final draft, post which the team will dive into pre-production. Ali, staying true to his own trajectory, intends to push for diversity in the casting. Given his network in the international circuit, he hopes to bring together American, British and Indian actors. If all goes well, the movie will go on floors next year." Meanwhile, the banner's maiden production Girls Will Be Girls, a mother-daughter story directed by Shuchi Talati, is expected to roll soon.
