Rekha touches Shatrughan Sinha's feet at a wedding reception; watch

Bollywood stars reunited at the wedding reception of Wizcraft International Entertainment's co-founder and director Andre Timmins' son Leslie. On Saturday, a grand ceremony was hosted in Mumbai where the who's who of the film fraternity showed up to bless the newlyweds. Shatrughan Sinha and Rekha were among the guests at the reception.

Shatrughan Sinha was with his wife Poonam Sinha and daughter Sonakshi Sinha. In a viral video, Rekha, who was already at the reception, came to meet the family. The veteran actress touched Shatrughan's feet as a mark of respect upon greeting him. Rekha and Poonam are friends and they hugged each other warmly. The Sinhas posed for a picture with her.

For the unversed, Shatrughan and Rekha weren't on talking terms for more than 20 years. Punam played a role in patching them and ending the cold war. In an interview with Zoom on Rekha's birthday this year, Shatrughan opened up about the differences between them and said, "Rekha and I did a number of films together. We started our careers almost simultaneously… The Rekha back then was very different from the picture-perfect Rekha we see these days. We had a difference of opinion over some silly issue. After that, we didn't speak to each other for more than 20 years."

He further added, "It was none other than my better half Shrimati Poonam Sinha. You see, Rekha and she were close friends. And so my so-called cold war with Rekha was causing difficulties in my wife's friendship with Rekha. She patched us up for her own selfish reason and I happily agreed to let bygones be bygones. I did make digs about her. I shouldn't have. To her credit, Rekha never retaliated. She is a very large-hearted generous woman… How old is the one-and-only Rekha? Has she really crossed 60? Hard to believe, she is so well-maintained. Rekha is a timeless beauty, and matchless. So many have copied her style but Rekha remains Rekha. Unique, no one quite like her."

Shatrughan Sinha and Rekha were paired in films frequently back then. They acted together in projects like Naseeb, Yaar Meri Zindagi and others.
