The recently released teaser of Ranbir Kapoor's Animal got people excited for the violent action thriller's December release. The glimpse into the dark world of Sandeep Reddy Vanga was given on the actor's birthday on September 28. While being intriguing and thrilling, the teaser oozed grandeur and had visually arresting sequences.
Owing to the demand for extensive post-production work and delays, the budget of Animal reportedly shot up substantially. A report on Pinkvilla's website claimed that Ranbir came out in support of producers Bhushan Kumar and Sandeep and slashed his remuneration considerably. Reportedly, when the budget rose significantly, the actor decided to let go of half of his fees.

As per the Pinkvilla report, Ranbir's market value is around Rs. 70 crores a film. The actor is often involved in the logistics of the projects he signs. Owing to the inflated budget, he will now reportedly charge Rs. 30 - 35 crores for Animal. The amount that has been reduced from Ranbir's fees will reportedly be used to improve the production value of his gangster drama. Reportedly, Ranbir shall have a share in the profits, if Animal makes the desired collection at the box office.
The teaser of Animal focused on the father-son relationship between Anil Kapoor and Ranbir. It begins with an interaction between Ranbir and Rashmika Mandanna on a field. They appear to be prospective bride and groom. When she starts a conversation about his father, his tone changes. Later, the relationship between the father and son is shown. Transitioning from an innocent young boy to a violent beast, Ranbir's character undergoes a massive transformation. It seems he turned into a monster to impress his father. Animal's teaser ends on an intriguing note with a glimpse of Bobby Deol, who is the antagonist.
Animal is directed by Kabir Singh fame Sandeep Reddy Vanga. Bhushan Kumar's T-Series and Cine1 Studios are the producers. The film stars also stars Tripti Dimri. The action thriller was earlier scheduled to be released on August 11 but was pushed to December 1 due to pending post-production work. Animal will be released in multiple languages.
