Rajiv Kapoor's last rites: Randhir Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt attend

Rajiv Kapoor`s last rites were conducted on late Tuesday evening (February 9) in Mumbai.

Rajiv Kapoor, legendary actor Raj Kapoor's son passed away on Tuesday (9 February) morning. He passed away after suffering a heart attack in Mumbai. He was 58. Celebrities from the Hindi film industry paid their condolences and where seen visiting the Kapoor residence in Chembur.

Kapoor's last rites were conducted on late Tuesday evening in Mumbai. His funeral was attended by family members including brother Randhir Kapoor, Karisma Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor's wife Neetu Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor and Riddhima Kapoor Sahni.

Neetu Kapoor confirmed the news by posting a picture of Rajiv Kapoor on her Instagram account and paid her condolences and wrote "RIP", along with a folded hands emoji.

Rajiv Kapoor was the youngest of late legend Raj Kapoor's three sons, and the younger brother of Randhir Kapoor and late Rishi Kapoor. Known by his nickname Chimpu in Bollywood, he shot to fame with his starring role in Raj Kapoor's 1985 blockbuster Ram Teri Ganga Maili co-starring Mandakini. His other notable works include Lava, Zalzala and Zabardast.

In 1997, he tried his hand at direction with the Rishi Kapoor-Madhuri Dixit starrer "Prem Granth", produced under the RK Films banner. Dealing with the subject of rape and its social stigma, the film was a commercial flop.

He also handled the production responsibilities of his production RK Banner and produced films like Henna, Prem Granth, and Aa Ab Laut Chalein, which became the last film of the banner in 1999. His eldest sister Ritu Nanda and brother Rishi Kapoor passed away in January and April last year. As Rajiv Kapoor passed away today, Bollywood celebrities like Lata Mangeshkar, Sunny Deol. Manoj Kumar, and Neetu Kapoor paid their respects and remembered the actor on social media.
