Global girl Priyanka Chopra has opted out of her 'Bajirao Mastani' director Sanjay Leela Bhansali's next, reports The Quint. It was reported that Priyanka Chopra will essay the character of poetess-lyricist Amrita Pritam in this Sahir Ludhianvi's biopic, wherein Abhishek Bachchan plays the latter's role. After the 'desi' girl opted out of the film for unknown reasons, Sanjay Leela Bhansali's muse, Deepika Padukone has stepped into Amrita's shoes, Sahir's love-interest. Well, we clearly can see Bhansali's obsession with Deepika, who has just completed his third film 'Padmavati' with her, after successful hits like 'Ram Leela' and 'Bajirao Mastani'.

The report also states that Abhishek Bachchan, who has had a dry weather in Bollywood for a long time now and only did ensemble films, wants to give undivided attention to Sahir's poet character. Therefore, he isn't taking up any other film offers and he recently also walked out of JP Dutta's 'Paltan' at the end moment.

"Abhishek has begun preparing for his Sahir biopic. He will begin rigorous interaction with Sanjay Bhansali after Padmavati releases. But his groundwork on Sahir has begun in right earnest. He is regularly listening to the immortal repertoire of Sahir's lyrics from Guru Dutt's 'Pyasa' to Yash Chopra's Trishul. Abhishek's father had the good fortune to interact with Sahir when he worked in 'Kabhi Kabhie' and 'Trishul'. So Bachchan Saab is able to provide plenty of invaluable inputs to Abhishek's preparation," told a source to the portal.

This will be Abhishek Bachchan's first collaboration with filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Deepika Padukone. Let's see what this first-time pair brings in for Bhansali.
