Preity Zinta was one of the biggest stars in the film industry back in the good old days of films. She made her Bollywood debut with Mani Ratnam's Dil Se in 1998 and went on to do films like Soldier, Kya Kehna, Chori Chori Chupke Chupke, Koi... Mil Gaya, Kal Ho Naa Ho, Lakshya, Veer-Zara, Salaam Namaste, and Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna.

After the release of Jhoom Barabar Jhoom in 2007, she ventured into entrepreneurship and became the co-owner of the IPL Team, Kings XI Punjab. In these many years, she has acted in Ishq In Paris and Bhaiyaji Superhittt. In an interview with SpotBoyE, she spoke about the reason for stepping away from the limelight and becoming a lot more calm and spiritual over the years.

She said, "I am not the kind of person who will stand up and complain about anything. I have no complaints against anyone. If I've been away from the entertainment industry it's because I am not into selling myself. You won't see me buying space to get written about. I want to be appreciated for the work that I do."

She added, "During the year you will see a lot more layering in my life. Lately, I've become a lot calmer and more spiritual. But please don't make me out to be as this little boring angel. I love my wild side as much as the calm. A lot of things are changing in my life. I've realised through my experiences during the past year that life is not just about one activity or one experience. There's so much that I've experienced and there's a lot more to come."
