It's not stardom, but the "ability to surprise the audience" every time he is on-screen that keeps Pratik Gandhi going. The OTT breakout star of Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story has recently wrapped up the Rahul Dholakia-directed film, Agni. Teaming up with Saiyami Kher and Divyenndu, Gandhi will be seen playing a firefighter in the offering.

"We've hardly seen any films based on firefighters," says the actor, adding, that during the film he "learned a lot about them and their struggles". "It was fascinating to play a firefighter. I have high expectations from the film. I am an eternal optimistic. Hope the audience also loves my character." Gandhi, who brushed up his Marathi conversing skills during the shoot of his previous offering, Atithi Bhooto Bhava, says, "I always knew Marathi, but I needed to get the diction right. It will not only help with Agni, but also my next film, Phule."

The actor insists that he has explored every genre through his films in Gujarati, Hindi, and his plays and assures that his upcoming films will continue to show him in a different light. "You will see me in different characters. I am happy as an actor because this is what I always wanted to do. I never wanted to put myself in a cage. My audience should always keep wondering. That also motivates me to experiment more," he shares.
