Amid high anticipation, the makers of Prabhas' upcoming action-thriller, Salaar: Part 1 - Ceasefire, announced its new release date. The Prashanth Neel directorial was initially scheduled to debut on silver screens on September 28. While the film avoided the Jawan wave, the clash between Prabhas and Shah Rukh Khan on Christmas this year is confirmed.
Salaar: Part 1 - Ceasefire will be releasing in theatres globally on December 22. Shah Rukh's Dunki, directed by Rajkumar Hirani, will also come out in cinema halls on the same date. The socio-drama's release date was locked on April 19, 2022, when the title announcement video was unveiled.

Amid the humongous success of Shah Rukh's Jawan, Hombale Films postponed the release of Salaar. In an official statement, the production house stated, "We deeply appreciate your unwavering support for #Salaar. With consideration, we must delay the original September 28 release due to unforeseen circumstances. Please understand this decision is made with care, as we're committed to delivering an exceptional cinematic experience. Our team is working tirelessly to meet the highest standards. The new release date will be revealed in due course. Stay with us as we make the final touches on #SalaarCeaseFire and thank you for being a part of this incredible journey."
During his recent #AskSRK session, Shah Rukh confirmed that Dunki will not be postponed and will be released as per the original schedule. Rajkumar dropped a hint that the trailer will be out soon. The filmmaker wrote, "Sirji ab bathroom se bahar aa jao. Kya kar rahe ho? Trailer dikhana hain." Reacting to it, Shah Rukh tweeted, "Oh Sh#%. Coming sirâ¦doston se baat kar raha tha!!! Sorry boys and girls have to rush now. Varna #Dunki se nikaal denge!!! Thanks for ur time boys and girls. See u in the theatres very very soon. Love u all. So much to do less time to talk to youâ¦.Muah (sic)."
Dunki is a Jio Studios, Red Chillies Entertainment and Rajkumar Hirani Films presentation. The film also stars Taapsee Pannu. Rajkumar Hirani, Abhijaat Joshi and Kanika Dhillon have written the film. It is produced by Rajkumar and Gauri Khan.
Salaar is produced by Vijay Kiragandur of Hombale Films. The film also stars Prithviraj Sukumaran and Shruti Haasan.
