Singer Kanika Kapoor had a busy 2016 with back-to-back releases all through the year. Perhaps, that's the reason she has been unwinding for the last few days. She was holidaying in Thailand earlier this month, and more recently, toured Barcelona.

hitlist has learnt that the singer dined with Latin-American pop artiste Shakira as well as Argentine footballer Lionel Messi and his partner, Antonella Roccuzzo.

Talking about her fan-girl moment, Kanika says, "I met Shakira at a common friend's house in Barcelona. She was very warm and friendly. We chilled over dinner."
A long chat on music was but inevitable. "Apart from discussing our babies, we also talked about Indian music. I told her I sing for Bollywood films, and she said she loves the sitar," Kanika adds.
