Bollywood actress Vidya Balan, who is known for her wit and intelligence when it comes to handling difficult situations, especially in the presence of the media, encountered an erratic fan at ghazal maestro Pankaj Udhas' funeral in Mumbai on Tuesday afternoon. Pankaj passed away on Monday due to a prolonged illness. He was 72.
Clad in a white Indian ensemble, Vidya was seen making her way to the last rites of the singer, when a persistent fan followed her for a selfie. The woman accompanying Vidya requested the man and also went on to tell him sternly to respect the occasion and avoid the same but he didn't budge. Vidya, however, kept her calm demeanor and without uttering a single word avoided any interaction with the man. Check out the video below which has gone viral on social media.

The last rites of Pankaj Udhas were performed with full state honours in Mumbai. The final journey of the Pankaj Udhas began with a tribute performance by a band. The hearse, decked with white flowers, was paraded through the streets. His mortal remains were covered with the National Flag as part of his final rites. Some of his popular renditions are 'Chitthi Aayi Hai', 'Chandani Raat Mein', 'Na Kajre Ki Dhaar', 'Aur Ahista Kijiye Baatein', 'Ek Taraf Uska Ghar' and 'Thodi Thodi Piya Karo'.
Meanwhile, talking about Vidya's work front, she will be seen in the romantic drama 'Do Aur Do Pyaar.' It revolves around a sparkling journey through love, laughter, and modern relationships. The film also stars Pratik Gandhi and Ileana D'Cruz. Directed by Shirsha Guha Thakurta, the film will hit theatres on March 29, 2024.
Besides that, Vidya will return to the âBhool Bhulaiyaa' franchise. The ace actor is known for essaying the role of Manjulika in the 2007 psychological horror-comedy film 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa'. Anees Bazmee, who directed the second part, will direct the third part as well. The first part was helmed by Priyadarshan and featured Akshay Kumar alongside Vidya. In the second part, Kartik Aaryan shared screen space with Tabu and Kiara Advani.
On expanding the franchise, producer Bhushan Kumar said, "The 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa' franchise holds a special place in our hearts, and I'm very happy to be taking it forward with a creative mind like Anees and an incredible talent like Kartik. Together, we are set to deliver a cinematic experience that will both honor the legacy of the franchise and bring double the (laughter and thrill for the audience." 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3' will be released this Diwali.
