With his adorable looks and charming screen presence, Imran Khan made a promising debut in Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na (2008). While he was hailed as the favourite chocolate boy of Bollywood, he had his own share of successes and failures. The nephew of Aamir Khan was lauded for his work in films like Delhi Belly. However, in the past eight years, Imran went missing in action. In 2020, it was confirmed that Imran said goodbye to his acting career forever to focus on directing films. Fans were clearly disheartened by his decision. However, it seems Imran is gearing up to make his acting comeback after Katti Batti in 2015.
Zeenat Aman, who is a social media star in her 70s, did an ad film with Cred recently. She will also be returning to the sets of a feature film after a gap of 4 years. Reacting to Zeenat's Cred ad on Instagram, a person named Aditi appealed, "Zeenat Ji ne bhi comeback karlia, patani mera @imrankhan kab karega ðÂÂÂ" Sending the internet into a meltdown, Imran replied to the comment, "Chalo Aditi, let's leave this one to the internet⦠1M likes, and I'll make it happen (sic)." This sparked excitement among fans for his comeback.
In 2020, Akshay Oberoi confirmed his friend Imran's exit from the movies. In an interview with Navbharat Times, the actor said, "My best friend in Bollywood is Imran Khan, who is no longer an actor because he has quit acting. Imran is my closest friend, whom I can get up at 4 am and call. Me and Imran have been with each other for almost 18 years, we studied acting together at Kishore Acting School in Andheri West."

He also added, "Imran Khan has left acting at the moment. As far as I know, there is a better writer and director inside Imran, I do not know when he will direct his film himself, I am not going to put any pressure, but as a friend, I think so he will direct his film soon. Also, when Imran directs, I know he will make a wonderful film because his sensibility and understanding of cinema is very high."
Workwise, after the debacle of Katti Batti co-starring Kangana Ranaut, Imran directed a short film titled Mission Mars: Keep Walking India. Interestingly, his debut film, Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na, completed 15 years a month ago on July 4. Genelia Deshmukh shared the screen space with him and her name in the film was Aditi.
