Key Highlights

After a successful theatrical run, Akshay Kumar's OMG 2 is all set to premiere on OTT on October 8. The film will be released on Netflix. Ahead of its OTT release, the lead actor who essayed the role of messenger of Lord Shiva in the film addressed the 27 cuts made to the film based on suggestions made by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).

During a group interview recently, talking about the edits in the film, Akshay Kumar said, "I don't want to fight. I have no idea about the rules. I didn't get into the rulebook. If they thought it was an adult film, then... did you all feel it is an adult film? Whoever we have shown the film to, they loved it. I made it for youngsters and I'm happy it is coming on Netflix and I'm happy about it. That's it. The important thing is that people should know about it."

Akshay further said that the collective thought process needs to change. Recalling an incident during the promotions of his 2018 film 'Padman', he said, "I did a film on sanitary pads at a time when nobody would dare to hold a sanitary pad in their hand, people weren't ready to touch it. I was standing with someone, I won't name them, I was the chief guest at an event. That person came to me and whispered in my ears not to give a pad to him because ‘Acchha nahi lagta' (doesn't look good), this is the kind of thinking."

'OMG 2' revolves around the topic of sex education among the young generation while highlighting prevailing misinformation. In OMG2, Akshay Kumar stars as a messenger of Lord Shiva, while Pankaj Tripathi plays a devotee of Lord Shiva named Kanti Sharan Mudgal, and Yami Gautam essays the part of a lawyer

Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar's film 'Mission Raniganj: The Great Bharat Rescue', was released in theatres on Friday. He portrayed the role of Jaswant Singh Gill, a real-life unsung hero in the film. Akshay called 'Mission Raniganj' one of his best films. He said, "Tinu deserves the National Award. He's been with the screenplay for the last 4-5 years, he has worked so hard. I don't know about what the commerciality of this film going to be but that is for sure I am so proud of the film he has made. And I am happy to say that this is one of the best films which I have done."
