American director Param Gill will helm the project, which highlights the controversial life of the politician Pappu Yadav

Param Gill, an American director of Indian origin, known for Hollywood film, Going to America, has acquired the rights for a biopic on well-known politician, Pappu Yadav.

The film is based on a book penned by Amarnath Jha, who has also written the screenplay of the project. Talking about why he chose to make a film on Yadav, Gill says, "The crests and troughs in the politician's life make for a perfect commercial potboiler. He fought for the rights of the backward caste and the world needs to know his story."
The casting of the film is underway and will be finalised soon.
