Angad Bedi
Some filmmakers, owing to their vision or unique perspective, leave an impression on you. Having recently wrapped up the shoot of R Balki's Ghoomer, Angad Bedi counts the director among those who have influenced him deeply. Collaborating with the filmmaker was a learning experience for Bedi, who plays a key role in the Abhishek Bachchan, Shabana Azmi and Saiyami Kher starrer. He says, "The way Balki tells his stories is different from others. Simply spending time with him can teach you so much about art. As actors, we have our own style, but we need a good director who can help us break [the mould]. For me and many others, Balki is that director."

The upcoming sports drama revolves around a cricket coach, played by Bachchan, and his protégée - essayed by Kher - who overcomes a personal hardship to triumph in her field. Often cast in grey roles, Bedi is delighted that he was offered a romantic part. "When you work with Shoojit da [Sircar, Pink director] and Balki, they let you find your character, its emotions and graph. Here, Balki saw in me what no one did, and cast me in a romantic [role]."
Bachchan was another incentive for the actor to join the cast of Ghoomer. Admitting that he admires his co-star's choice of projects, Bedi says, "I loved Paa [2009], Guru [2007] and Ludo [2020]. [In Ghoomer], we complemented each other on screen, and I hope to share screen space with him again."
