Neha Dhupia
After movies and podcasts, Neha Dhupia's next stop is digital entertainment. While the actor was seen in the direct-to-web film Lust Stories (2018), she had not jumped on the web series bandwagon. Now, she is set to take the leap with a family comedy that will go on floors later this month.
Sources say the yet-untitled series is an ensemble comedy, with Dhupia being the first actor to have come on board. A source reveals, "The casting is underway, with five more actors to be roped in for principal parts. The project, sanctioned by a leading platform, is being helmed by a debutant director. Over the past two years, crime dramas have dominated the web, but Neha wanted something heartwarming and refreshing for her maiden series. Considering sitcoms are few and far between in the Indian OTT scene, the actor was thrilled when this show came her way." It will be filmed in Mumbai and Delhi.
When mid-day contacted Dhupia, she shared her excitement, saying, "I am thrilled to be part of this wonderful project. It's a fun concept, and I can't wait to explore a new gamut of quirks that are tied into the script."
