It has been more than a year since the globe has been struck by the Coronavirus pandemic. It all started last year in March and continues to loom large across the world. In 2020, Neena Gupta began sharing her lockdown stories and how she spent her time with her family. Things seem to have changed now. Her recent post on her Instagram account is about loneliness and hope. She could be seen sitting alone with her pet and the caption clearly stated that she too wants things to come back to normal. Filmmaker and actor Soni Razdan commented- "Me also waiting." Gupta stole the show in the 2018 comedy Badhaai Ho and also did films like Mulk and Veere Di Wedding in the same year. She has been a part of the Hindi film industry for over three decades now.

She's now gearing up for the release of Sardar Ka Grandson that also stars Arjun Kapoor and Rakul Preet Singh. Talking about the process of getting into the skin of the character, the actress recently revealed to midday, "The team left me astounded by the amount of effort they put in helping me get the perfect look. Sometimes, we went through 10 rounds [of make-up] to get the prosthetics right."
She added, "They also made sure to experiment with different kinds of materials so that the prosthetics wouldn't hamper my performance. We braced ourselves for long and painful sessions. Hard work and dedication went in to create my look," says the senior actor, who plays grandmother to Kapoor's US-returned Amrik. The Netflix slice-of-life drama revolves around Amrik's efforts to fulfil his grandmother's wish of visiting her ancestral home in Lahore.
