Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Nupur Sanon
It's been a busy week for the Sanon sisters. As Kriti continued to work on the promotions of the Friday release, Bachchhan Paandey, sister Nupur kicked off the shoot of Noorani Chehra, alongside Nawazuddin Siddiqui.
Talking about Navaniat Singh's directorial venture, touted to be an adaptation of the Punjabi movie, Kala Shah Kala, Nupur tells mid-day, "I am blessed to have bagged this character in my first film because [I can get to showcase] a range of emotions. When you work with brilliant people, you feed off their energy. Working with Nawazuddin Siddiqui on my first film is a great start."
Having confessed to Siddiqui that she perceived him to be the type of co-actor who would refrain from interacting with her, she says he often spent time sharing anecdotes, pulling people's legs, and cracking jokes. "He creates a vibrant atmosphere on set. I have often asked him to help me break down his process. Nawaz sir is humble; we never hear him complain."
Even though hushed whispers about her film debut had been doing the rounds for a while, Nupur chose to stay mum until things finally fell into place. "Artistes must have clarity about what they deserve. I want to create a line of work that has longevity. When this character came to me, I was excited, because it has many layers. When this film was offered to me, it felt like this chance was worth taking." The young actor finds her biggest cheerleader in sister Kriti. "We are sisters, but are poles apart. Our ethics are the same, but we differ in every other aspect. So, she pushes me to be myself."
