Nawazuddin's next film, 'Anwar Ka Ajab Kissa', premieres in London

The dark comedy, which marks Dasgupta's return to mainstream Hindi cinema after a hiatus, will be screened at the ongoing London film festival on October 17. There are two more shows on October 18u00a0and 20.

The film has Nawaz essay a maverick private detective who often finds himself personally embroiled with the clients he is spying on. Shot in Shimultala, near Kolkata, its landscape captures Bengal in what is typical of the National award-winning director's style.

Says Dasgupta, "The film is being screened for the first time and that too at the London film festival. This is my seventh film that is being screened at the festival. More importantly, it was Satyajit Ray's favourite film festival, so that is a matter of honour for me."

The veteran writer-director who is well known on the festival circuit bagged the National Award for his films like 'Bagh Bahadur' (1989), 'Charachar' (1993), 'Lal Darja' (1997) and 'Kaalpurush' (2008).

He adds, "The film will be going to several other festivals before its release in India."u00a0
