To celebrate National Cinema Day on September 23, multiplexes across the country are selling tickets for flat Rs. 75. Almost all major multiplexes are participating to celebrate cinema. The response to National Cinema Day has been "unprecedented", says the Multiplex Association Day.
Ahead of the National Cinema Day celebration in India, the Multiplex Association of India issued a statement in response to the slashed prices of tickets for a day. "A record number of moviegoers are expected to visit cinema/s on Friday, 23 September to celebrate the National Cinema Day. The response to the pre-sales has been unprecedented and 23 September is on course to become the highest attended day of the year for cinemas across the country," they wrote.

Due to State Regulations w.rt Cinemas and Ticket Pricing, in some of the States Le Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala, Cinemas would be unable to participate in the National Cinema Day celebrations. Participating cinemas in all States (including Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Kerala) will be making special offers on National Cinema Day, movie goers are requested to refer to the websites and social media handles of the participating cinemas for these offers and/or exclusions," it further read. More than 4000 screens will be participating and celebrating National Cinema Day.
"National Cinema Day will bring together audiences of all ages to enjoy a day at the movies. National Cinema Day celebrates the successful reopening of cinemas and is a thank you to the moviegoers who made this happen. National Cinema Day is also an invitation to those moviegoers who haven't made it back to a cinema near them, yet," the statement further read.
