Hi Genelia! Can you recall the best Diwali gift ever given to you?
The best Diwali gift ever given to me is the luxury of having a family under one roof. I think it's a biggest luxury to have the entire joint family living under one roof together. For me, that's the best gift EVER!
What's the importance of Diwali in your life?
The importance of Diwali in my life is the fact that it speaks about light. And I feel that we all need that light in our lives. So, it's extremely important to have that positive light in our lives, and it's extremely important to have a day that speaks about it.

Who does interiors of your house during Diwali?
I think the interiors of the house was initially done by Riteish, but now, it's more by the kids, they choose to do what they like, it's always more eco-friendly zone. So, either re- cycled material or re-usable materials. For example, the cardboard boxes, re-cycled papers that are used to stick, are more eco-friendly and kid's favorite. So that's pretty much our zone at home (smiles).

What different are you doing this time for Diwali decoration?
Like I said, whenever we now chose to decorate our house, be it any festival or in general⦠it is mostly chosen by kids. We use stuff which are eco-friendly or made by the substances which are re-cycled.
Did you go shopping for your festive wardrobe?
Shopping is obviously a must, because, it's always about new clothes on Diwali and little gifts which you buy for your loved ones. All of these makes Diwali a wonderful celebration.
What is your favourite part of Diwali?
Celebration with entire family together will always be my favourite part. This year will be more exciting, as compared to the muted celebrations in the last two years because of pandemic.
