Mrunal Thakur had a pretty balanced year in 2022. The actress starred in Jersey, which didn't do well at the box office, while her Telugu film Sita Ramam was a great success. The latter became the reason for others to take notice of her incredible talent. Mrunal garnered a lot of appreciation for her performance in Sita Ramam, and she has already signed another Telugu film.
While most people are familiar with Mrunal from her Bollywood and Telugu films, few are aware that she began her career in television. She made her debut as a lead in the show Mujhse Kuchh Kehti... Yeh Khamoshiyaan and rose to prominence as Bulbul in Kumkum Bhagya.
While still in college, Thakur bagged a lead part in the Star Plus show Mujhse Kuchh Kehti...Yeh Khamoshiyaan as Gauri Bhosle opposite Mohit Sehgal. The actress dropped out of college to work on this project. The show aired from 2012 until 2013. Later the same year, Thakur starred in an episode of the mystery thriller Har Yug Mein Aayega Ek - Arjun as a journalist called Sakshi Anand.
Later, Thakur was cast in Zee TV's serial drama Kumkum Bhagya in February 2014. The drama, which also starred Sriti Jha, Shabir Ahluwalia, Arjit Taneja, and Supriya Shukla, premiered on April 15 and starred Thakur as Bulbul Arora Khanna, a lady who helps her mother (played by Shukla) operate a marriage hall with her elder sister (played by Jha).

She eventually got into films, and her debut Hindi film was Love Sonia. The film, which starred her as the lead character of a rural girl who brings to light the subject of worldwide human trafficking, was released in September 2018 after several delays. Thakur spent time at a brothel studying prostitutes' body language as part of her training. Despite favourable reviews, the picture was a flop at the domestic box office.
Thakur made her Bollywood debut in 2019 with Vikas Bahl's biographical drama Super 30, which told the tale of mathematician Anand Kumar (played by Hrithik Roshan) and his educational programme of the same name, in which she played Supriya, a classical dancer and Kumar's love interest.
She later made her Telugu debut with Sita Ramam last year, and she has now been cast as the female protagonist in Nani 30. Sita Ramam's presence in the Indian cinema business undoubtedly helped Mrunal's career.
