Poonam Pandey and Sam Bombay
On Friday, model Poonam Pandey's team claimed that she had passed away after battling 'cervical cancer'. However, a day later, Poonam dropped a video claiming she was alive and that the death news was part of spreading awareness about cervical cancer. While many have called out the model for the publicity stunt, her husband Sam Bombay has broken his silence calling her a bold woman. While Sam and Poonam have separated they are legally married.
In an interview with Hindustan Times, when Sam Bombay was asked if he was surprised at Poonam Pandey faking her death, he said, "No. I'm delighted she did. She is alive. That's enough for me. Alhamdullilah."
While Poonam's manager confirmed her death, Bombay was skeptical about the news. "When I heard the news, I felt nothing in my heart. There was no sense of loss. And I thought this can't be. Why do I feel nothing? Because when you're connected, you feel everything. I think about her (Poonam Pandey) every day. And, I pray for her every day. If something was wrong, I'd know."
Sam Bombay also said that he and Poonam are still legally married. "No, we are not divorced, yet," he said adding "I am happy she is still alive. She has a lot to contribute."

He added, "Listen to me, if someone raises awareness about an issue with complete disregard for their fame or image, let's respect that. Poonam Pandey is timeless. She is the boldest Indian woman. Several years from now, she'll be celebrated."
Model Poonam Pandey's return from the dead:
On February 2, Poonam's manager claimed that the actress had lost her life to cervical cancer. A statement was also posted on Poonam's official Instagram which read, "This morning is a tough one for us. Deeply saddened to inform you that we have lost our beloved Poonam to cervical cancer. Every living form that ever came in contact with her was met with pure love and kindness."
However, on Saturday, Poonam shared a video on social media announcing that she is alive and shared that she faked her demise as she intended to raise awareness about cervical cancer.
"I feel compelled to share something significant with you all - I am here, alive. Cervical Cancer didn't claim me, but tragically, it has claimed the lives of thousands of women who stemmed from a lack of knowledge on how to tackle this disease. Unlike some other cancers, Cervical Cancer is entirely preventable. The key lies in the HPV vaccine and early detection tests. We have the means to ensure no one loses their life to this disease. Let's empower one another with critical awareness and ensure every woman is informed about the steps to take. Visit the link in the bio to delve deeper into what can be done. Together, let's strive to put an end to the devastating impact of the disease and bring #DeathToCervicalCancer," she said.
