Mithila Palkar with Dhruv Sehgal
Creating the final season of Little Things must have been a bittersweet experience for Mithila Palkar. In a way, the two have evolved together. As the charming romantic comedy graduated from a YouTube show to one of Netflix.
India's much-loved series in its four years, it made Palkar - one of Internet's early stars - a household name. She is happy to see how digital entertainment has flourished in the past few years. "It makes me feel validated. Now, we're all playing on a level field. There is no [demarcation] that so-and-so is a film actor, and so-and-so is an OTT actor. I have been fortunate to do films as well," she says.

As creator-actor Dhruv Sehgal and Palkar slipped into the roles of Dhruv and Kavya for the last time, their attempt was only to be true to the characters that the audiences have grown to love. "We were aware that we should not lose the vein of the character, or the essence of the show. There was something homely and warm about them, and we didn't want to change that."

Where the past three seasons delved into the everyday struggles of a live-in relationship, the final instalment saw the couple contemplate about marriage and having children. Palkar admits that modern Indian women face the pressure of marriage, unlike her character Kavya. "I wish a lot of us had the privilege to make our choices, and not be pushed [into matrimony]. I am fortunate that my family has never put that kind of pressure on me. I have the liberty to make my choice about whether I want to get married or not."
