Akshay Kumar explained the reason of changing the tagline for his recent release
Akshay Kumar is known to present tales of bravery and extraordinary heroism in his films. After delivering a bunch of socio-dramas, the actor has returned to theatres once again this year, but with a biopic this time. Titled Mission Raniganj: The Great Bharat Rescue, it is inspired by a real-life incident that took place in November 1989.
The film âMission Raniganj: The Great Bharat Rescue' was previously titled âMission Raniganj: The Great India Rescue' but the word India was replaced with Bharat last moment. Now in a conversation with News18, Kumar explained the reason of changing the tagline, he shared, "Is there anything wrong if we changed it to Bharat? No, right. So just enjoy it."
When prodded that even India is not wrong, Akshay added, "I agree India is not wrong and is also right. Bharat is a great name and it is in our constitution so we decided to change it."
The actor who couldn't meet Jaswant Gill, the man on whom the story is based, recalled an interaction and said, "A few years ago when Jaswantji was alive, I had the opportunity to speak to him on the phone. He was so humble, simple, and down to earth that it was genuinely an honour talking to him," Akshay added, "There's so much truth and sacrifice in the inspiring stories of such unsung heroes that I would like to keep making films like that and tell today's youth about such great visionaries."

Akshay in another conversation hailed Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan and shared, "I hope the industry gives more and more hits. I was very happy when Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan did such a good business. There are many other films, like Gadar 2, and OMG 2, which also did well. So it's very good for the industry. Our industry went through a very bad patch because of Covid-19 times. Now things are moving, and it's a great thing that â¹1000 crore is a benchmark. Also, I hope that we make â¹2000-3000 crore films like Hollywood, because the kind of cinema, the screenplay, and the script that we have they don't have."
Mission Raniganj also stars Parineeti Chopra, Kumud Mishra, Pawan Malhotra, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, and others. It was released in theatres on October 6, 2023.
