The admiration for his comeback vehicle, Pathaan, has evidently trickled down to his next film, as reports suggest that Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan is set to clock a promising opening figure at the box office. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tells mid-day that more than two lakh tickets have already been sold at multiplexes for Thursday, the opening day of the film, and sales at the country's single screens have surpassed this number.
A trade source tells mid-day, "While Pathaan opened at Rs 50 crore, Jawan is expected to beat that number. The film will make more money in sectors in the south owing to the popularity of [director] Atlee, and the film's leading lady, Nayanthara. This market had remained largely untapped by [the makers] of SRK's last film. Jawan is projected to collect approximately R70 crore if early sales figures are an indication."
Jawan sees Khan in a distinct variety of looks, including a bald avatar that the actor reportedly stated would be exclusive to this film.
