The environmentally- conscious Bhumi Pednekar is keen to feature in a film that highlights the importance of climate change. After Toilet: Ek Prem Katha (2017), she maintains there was "a decline in open defecation." The actor strives to create a balance of positive messaging, along with entertainment. "But by constantly speaking about it, we can also see a change," says Pednekar, who does not leave an opportunity to highlight the green cause.
Bhumi Pednekar, who is a climate warrior too, says she is dedicated to highlighting the seriousness of the climate crisis and its repercussions. "Climate change is upon us and it is real. Through my initiative of Climate Warrior, I diligently try to highlight the seriousness of the crisis and its repercussions," Bhumi said.
On the professional front, the actress has completed shooting for comedy-drama Badhaai Do along with Rajkummar Rao. The film is the second instalment in the "Badhaai Ho" franchise. While the first film starred Ayushmann Khurrana and Sanya Malhotra, the new film will see Rajkummar and Bhumi taking the franchise forward.
Speaking about her character 'Sumi' in an interview with a leading publication Bhumi said, "She's sweet, feminine and she has her quirks and that's why I feel that she is quite exciting." Rajkummar shared, "It was so much fun, it's very cold but I love winters personally and specially shooting for Badhaai Do which is such an amazing script." The film is another part of the National Award Winning franchise 'Badhaai Ho'.
