Karan Johar with Orry on the show
From being mentioned multiple times on Koffee With Karan 8, Orry went on to become a guest on the last episode of the season. The social media star, who has piqued everyone's curiosity, gave a detailed insight into how he suddenly became the most papped person in B-Town.
Karan Johar asked him how Brand Orry began. "If you want to blame someone, blame Boney Kapoor. I was entering the gate at his daughter's birthday, and all the media people kept calling my name and clicking me. Boney uncle, being the gentleman he is, had come down to receive me at the gate. So I said, 'Boney uncle, they were screaming my name!' My name, for the first time! I was so shy, I was shaking.
"He said, 'Did you pose?' I said, 'No I couldn't pose, not me.' He just grabbed me by the wrist and flung me in front of the media and said, 'This is Orry, he is my child, click his pictures.' That's when I realised, this was meant for me. The match was always there and so was the gunpowder, and he just lit it," said Orry, real name Orhan Awatramani.
Is it just 15 minutes of fame, and is he worried that it will fizzle out? "I am planning my own downfall now. The time has come. The brightest stars burn out the fastest. In my office, my minions are planning my digital demise."
"So, what next," Karan asked. Orry said, "Then we'll plan my comeback. in every movie, the lead actor has a fall and then they make a comeback. So my fall is coming. Before anyone else can plan it, I am planning it. Before you take away my 15 minutes, I kill it.
Karan also asked, "You mentioned doppelgangers, are there many more that look like you?"
"So, you made a statement right now saying Orry is here, Orry is there, he is everywhere. I am everywhere. I take great pride in being the Orry omnipresent. Sometimes, people forget that I am not actually a mythical creature, I am real and I can't be everywhere. So, we do have lookalikes. Sometimes, they have to be sent out to hold fire until I arrive," revealed Orry.
"It started when I was in London, and someone said I was clicked at a restaurant in Mumbai. I wondered, 'what pictures, when I am not even in the city?' I opened Instagram and saw some guy was posing like me, and I said, I need that, you're hired," he added.
