Alia, Kareena, Karan in Koffee With Karan 8
The anticipation around the 4th episode of Koffee With Karan 8 is high. Amid the curiosity, the makers of the Karan Johar-hosted chat show released a new promo featuring Kareena Kapoor Khan and Alia Bhatt. The filmmaker introduced the former as his soul sister and the latter as his 'firstborn'.
In the promo, Kareena said, "I'm back," and Alia pitched in, "on the controversial couch. Controversial with a 'K'." Later, Alia said, "Either Karan is getting a call from Varun or Sid, they don't even listen, they don't even say hello!" Karan said a year without pout would be a horror story for Kareena. She trolled him for his pouts and top-angle selfies.
Giving the episode a spicy twist, Karan asked Kareena, "Do you consider Deepika Padukone as your competition." The actress replied, "I think this is Alia's question for her rapid fire, not for me!"
Towards the end of the promo, Karan probed into the reason behind Kareena's absence from Gadar 2's party. He also touched upon the topic of her tiff with Ameesha Patel over Kaho Na Pyaar Hai. Kareena said she ignored the question.

In a previous interview with Filmfare, Kareena opened up about exiting Kaho Na Pyaar Hai and feud with Ameesha. She said, "The film was made for Hrithik. His dad spent five hours on every frame and close-up of his, whereas not even five seconds were spent on Ameesha. There are portions in the film where she has pimples and under-eye bags on her face. She just doesn't look beautiful, but every shot of his was a dream. If I were in the film, I would have definitely got a better deal, but I still feel that the attention would have divided between us. So, I'm glad I didn't do the film."
Talking to Siddharth Kannan, Ameesha spoke about Kareena said, "Kareena made a statement that if she'd done Kaho Naa⦠Pyaar Hai, she would've done a better job of it than I had. And she said that she would've stolen the limelight from Hrithik or something like that. And I also said, âMaybe. Maybe she would have, maybe she wouldn't have'. The bottom line is that Sonia was me, I did justice to the character, the film was a hit. Nobody can run away from this reality. What I could've done replacing other girls in other films I don't know. Maybe I would've done them worse, maybe I would've done them better."
