Sonu Sood
We've seen Rajinikanth's fans celebrate the South icon's new release by pouring gallons of milk over the film's posters. Now, it's Sonu Sood's turn for a milk bath. A group of residents of Srikalahasti in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh showered Sood's photo with milk. This was their way to thank him for his efforts in helping people during the pandemic.

Though Sood is "humbled" by the gesture, it did not go down well with a section of netizens, including television actor Kavita Kaushik, who wrote, "We love @SonuSood and the nation will be indebted to him forever for his selfless acts, but I'm sure even Sonu will be unhappy with this foolish and uninspiring act of wasting milk in times where people are dying of hunger.. why are we so extra always with everything ??!!"
Meanwhile, Sonu Sood and poet Kumar Vishwas have come forward to support the 'Aao Gaon Bachayen' campaign started by comic poet and satirist Pankaj Prasun. Under the campaign, residents of 30 villages in six village panchayat blocks of Rae Bareli district would be provided Covid medicines, oximeters, thermometers and ration kits, along with oxygen support in Covid care centres.
Not only this, Sonu is all set to set up oxygen plants at needy hospitals in different states, and the first two plants would be set up in Kurnool and Nellore, Andhra Pradesh simultaneously. Sonu Sood and his team are now in the process of setting up an oxygen plant at Kurnool Government Hospital which will be followed by setting the next one at District Hospital, Atmakur, Nellore.
The actor shared the news on Twitter, as he wrote, "Very happy to announce that the first set of my Oxygen Plants will be set up at Kurnool Government Hospital & one at District Hospital, Atmakur, Nellore, AP in the month of June! This would be followed by setting more plants in the other needy states! Time to support rural India"
Hats off to Sonu and his philanthropic work, amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
