Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor has been issued a notice by the Madhya Pradesh High Court on a petition seeking the removal of the word "Bible" from the title of her 2021 book, "'Kareena Kapoor Khan's Pregnancy Bible: The Ultimate Manual for Moms-To-Be", as it hurt sentiments of the Christian community.
According to PTI, the single bench of Justice GS Ahluwalia on Thursday issued the notice on a petition filed by advocate Christopher Anthony. The court also issued notices to co-author Aditi Shah Bhimjyani, Amazon Online Shopping, publisher Juggernaut Books, the state government, the superintendent of police Jabalpur, and the in-charge of Omit police station.
The book, "Kareena Kapoor Khan's Pregnancy Bible: The Ultimate Manual for Moms-To-Be", was released in August 2021.
Talking to PTI on Saturday, Anthony said he filed the petition in the high court against a lower court order of February 26, 2022, that dismissed his plea seeking a ban on the book and removal of the word "Bible" from its title.

The lower court dismissed the petition after the police did not file an inquiry report relating to the complaint lodged at Omti police station to register a criminal case against the actor and others for allegedly hurting the sentiments of the Christian community, he said.
Back in 2021, Kareena took to Instagram and spoke about her pregnancy experience while giving a glimpse of her book. "There were good days and bad days; some days I was raring to go to work and others where I struggled to get out of bed. This book is a very personal account of what I experienced both physically and emotionally through both my pregnancies," she wrote.
Along with it, Kareena posted a video taking out a copy of her book from the microwave.
Speaking more about the book, Kareena shared that she wrote all her experiences and learnings related to pregnancy in the manual for moms-to-be. "I can't believe that I actually agreed to write this book... but here it is. We all have our own unique experiences as expectant mothers, but there are some similarities and with this book, I'm sharing my experiences and learnings, and hope that in some way this will help you on your journey towards motherhood," she said.
"Carrying both my babies has been the most special time in my life, and I am excited to share the moments and memories with you," she concluded.
Kapoor married actor Saif Ali Khan in 2012 and welcomed their first child Taimur in 2016, and their second child Jeh in 2021.
