Kareena Kapoor Khan and Ayushmann Khurrana
In a pairing that may well be considered out of the ordinary, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Ayushmann Khurrana are set to share the screen in Meghna Gulzar's next. The buzz is that the film will be titled Daayra, and will be a crime thriller based on the Hyderabad rape case. A trade source confirmed the news. Gulzar had previously brought Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal together in Raazi, a film that gained as much appreciation for its narrative as it did for the casting. Kapoor was previously seen in Crew, and will feature in Singham Again. Khurrana was seen in the 2023 offering, Dream Girl 2.
Anil Kapoor has begun preparing for his upcoming project, Subedaar. The actor took to social media yesterday to share a picture revealing his prep work for the film. "Abhi toh haath utha hi kahaan hai. Yeh toh bas taiyyari hai," he wrote. Veteran actor Anupam Kher took to the comments section to wish him well. Subedaar is directed by Suresh Triveni and is set to stream on Prime Video. Meanwhile, Bigg Boss OTT season 3, which is set to drop on OTT on June 21, marks Kapoor's first stint as a host.

Rubbishing rumours of a rift between Shatrughan Sinha and his daughter, actor Sonakshi Sinha, Pahlaj Nihalani said all is well within the family. Suggesting that Sinha senior was unlikely to object to his daughter's choice when picking a life partner, Nihalani recalled that the veteran actor had also, eventually, married a woman of his choice. Rumours of a rift emerged when Shatrughan was asked about Sonakshi's upcoming nuptials with Zaheer Iqbal. Shatrughan had then said that he knew only as much as the media did, and would wish his daughter well, when she chose to share the news with him. Trolls then criticised him for his apparent indifference.
Days after a food blogger shared a picture of her meal and claimed she was "proud to be a vegetarian", Swara Bhasker criticised the creator. "I'm proud to be a vegetarian. My plate is free from tears, cruelty, and guilt," wrote the blogger, prompting a response from the actor. "Honestly, I don't understand this smug self-righteousness of vegetarians. Your entire diet is made up of denying the calf its mother's milk, forcibly impregnating cows, then separating them from their babies, and stealing their milk. You eat root vegetables. That kills the whole plant! Please relax with the virtue signalling just because it's Bakr Eid!"
Priyanka Chopra Jonas extended warm greetings on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha. Chopra will next be seen in Heads of State, an action-comedy film directed by Ilya Naishuller, also starring Idris Elba and John Cena.
It may never have been obvious, but we see it now! Taapsee Pannu recently revealed that she was "brought into" the Bollywood film industry due to her resemblance to Preity Zinta. Pannu, who appeared on cricketer Shikhar Dhawan's talk show, Dhawan Karenge, shared, "I was first brought into Bollywood because I share a resemblance with Preity Zinta. She has good energy, and you know it well. Preity ma'am is lively, and seems intelligent. I felt like I had to live up to her reputation. So, I always put in an effort to be like her." Dhawan is the captain of the IPL team owned by Zinta.
