Karan Tacker
Set to reprise his role as secret agent Farooq Ali in the second season of Neeraj Panday's Special Ops, Karan Tacker says associating with the filmmaker is like being part of acting school. "He is a maverick, one who every actor wishes to work with. His films have been game-changers, as far as the content is concerned. Being on his set is like being in the best acting school. With him, one learns and grows every day. My biggest takeaway is learning how earnest and hard-working he is. I have found a mentor I can look up to."
Unlike in cinema, the OTT platform - which has given cinephiles not only great content, but also characters that they adore - has actors reprise the same role for several seasons. Ask him if slipping into the same part can be cumbersome and he says, "Actors [like to] constantly adorn new characters. But, when a show becomes a hit, then that joy and pleasure cannot be matched. We all are working for the audience. If they want more of a show or a character, so be it! Both makers and actors create new plots with the same characters, and that makes playing the part novel again."
Meanwhile, choosing to refrain from entertaining questions concerning his personal life, Tacker finds the interest of fans in his alleged affair with Bandish Bandits star Shreya Chaudhry unwarranted. "I understand that the [attention in my life] is part of the whole deal [of being an actor]. And it's okay. But I have always been a private person because it is nice to have some [moments] for yourself."
