Karan Johar has finally announced the release date for the much anticipated âYodha'. He took to Instagram to urge netizens to mark December 8 on their calendars.
There were a lot of rumours regarding the release date of Yodha being shifted around constantly, with it originally being slated for November 11, 2022, post that the makers pushed the release date to July 2023, then the makers decided to postpone the film to September 15. Sources within the industry had earlier revealed to Bollywood Hungama that Karan Johar's decision to advance the release of "Yodha" to December 8 stems from a strategic move. With "Dunki" and "Salaar" expected to dominate screens in the following weeks, securing a prime spot for "Yodha" became paramount. The competition for theater space among these big-ticket films is bound to be fierce, and Johar's foresight acknowledges the importance of a strong start.

Adding to the intrigue is the simultaneous release of "Merry Christmas" on the same day as "Yodha." This decision by the makers of "Merry Christmas" could potentially intensify the battle for screen time on December 8.
Earlier, seemingly in response to the clash of release dates, Karan Johar took to social media, expressing his concerns about films sharing the same release date without prior communication. In a cryptic post, he emphasized the need for unity within the film fraternity during these challenging times for theatrical releases.
However, Karan Johar's stance had ignited a debate online, with some netizens pointing out his past clashes with other films. Critics argued that Karan has, at times, intentionally chosen to release his movies in competition with others. Nevertheless, this clash between "Salaar," "Dunki," "Yodha," and "Merry Christmas" raises questions about the practicality of such a crowded release schedule.
"Yodha" boasts a star-studded cast featuring Sidharth Malhotra, Disha Patani, and Raashii Khanna. Directed by Sagar Ambre and Pushkar Ojha, the film had undergone multiple release date changes, the latest of which was influenced by Shah Rukh Khan's "Jawan" taking the September 7 slot.
As December approaches, the clash of these blockbuster films promises to be a spectacle worth watching for cinema enthusiasts eagerly anticipating the outcome of this high-stakes face-off. The battle for box office supremacy is set to unfold, and the world of entertainment news will be abuzz with updates and analysis as these films vie for the spotlight.
