Jawan has stormed into the Indian box office, cementing its status as a true blockbuster. With its magnetic appeal and enthralling storyline, the film has left audiences spellbound, raking in a staggering Rs 65 crore on its opening day across all languages in India, according to trade reports.
The excitement surrounding 'Jawan' was palpable from the get-go, as moviegoers thronged theaters across the nation. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh, took to X (formerly Twitter) to drop jaws with his revelation. But 'Jawan' didn't stop at conquering the Indian shores; it set sail to foreign territories and made history Down Under. The film grossed an impressive AUD 398,030 on its Thursday release in Australia, marking its name as the first Indian film to reign supreme at the Australian box office.
Jawan is a Red Chillies Entertainment presentation directed by Atlee, produced by Gauri Khan, and co-produced by Gaurav Verma. The film will be released worldwide in theatres on September 7, 2023, in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu languages. It also stars Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Sanya Malhotra, Priyamani, Ridhi Dogra, Sunil Grover, Girija Oak Godbole, and others in pivotal roles. Deepika Padukone features in the film in a cameo role. Sanjay Dutt has a special appearance too. Jawan is Atlee's first Hindi directorial. He is known for his work in the South film industry. It is also his first film with Shah Rukh. With the film, Nayanthara enters Bollywood after a long wait.
