Irrfan Khan thought he was being funny, but his joke has landed him in a spot. During a recent event, he was asked about his upcoming film 'Hindi Medium', which stars Pakistani actress Saba Qamar.
Given the ban on Pakistani artistes, he was questioned about her presence. Irrfan candidly remarked, "I think maybe Saba Qamar has married someone here in India. She is an Indian now. I heard it somewhere."
It was meant to be a joke, but has now drawn unsolicited attention towards Saba, who is now receiving death threats with her fellow countrymen who are convinced that she has indeed married an Indian. Ouch
