The Indian pop music realm is a vast space where so many great talents have co-existed. From Aasma to The Band of Boys, we've delved into some of the major moments, but this would truly be incomplete without the mention of 'Bombay Vikings'. The Bombay Vikings truly captivated audiences with their unique blend of Western music and truly soulful music. With a career that spanned two decades, this pop sensation left audiences wanting more.

Formed in the late 1990s, Bombay Vikings is truly the brainchild of the talented Neeraj Shridhar. The band was famed for its genius infusion of pop and electronic elements. Which resulted in a sound that was as catchy as the idea itself. Their music became a clear reflection of how rapidly the music space in India was evolving since it combined traditional Indian influences with global pop sensibilities.

One of the most memorable moments for the Bombay Vikings came with their debut album 'Kya Soorat Hai' in 1999. The album instantly scored big and became a household name across the nation. Songs like 'Who Chali' and 'Hawa Mein Udati Jaaye.' Their music truly resonated with a whole new generation of listeners, making sure that their songs bagged a regular feature on radio stations and ensured a spot on the playlists of young and old alike.

As the years have rolled on, the Vikings have continued to endure in our minds. In an interview with Hindustan Times, Neeraj talked about his experiences of lending his voice to songs from films like Love Aaj Kal and Cocktail. He explained why the audience hasn't heard much from him. "When I wanted to get into music production, I knew that I had to start from the scratch. To focus on that, when people offered me playback offers, I declined. I was scared that if I start composing, other music directors will stop calling me because I'll become a competitor. Compose songs and learning the Indian way of making songs took some time. And with the pandemic hitting us, it took longer than four years (sic.)" he said

As time goes on, we are sure audiences will never stop wishing on a wishing star for a reunion,
