Virgin Bhanupriya is releasing on satellite channel &TV.
We released the film on OTT in July last year and we received a favourable response. It has got a good rating on IMDB also. Apart from Uravshi, we had some interesting cast which includes Gautam Gulati, Rumana Molla, Archana Puran Singh, Brijendra Kala. I am really proud of the film. There is a second wave of coronavirus in the county and people are currently at home due to lockdown. The only options available for entertainment are either television channels or OTT. We received a positive response when we released the film on OTT and we are confident that people who haven't seen it will catch it on television.
Tell us about the USP of the film.
We have tried to touch a sensitive subject in a light-hearted manner. We are trying to give out a message without getting preachy. Every person carries different ideas of what love means to them. It's important to realise that virginity is circumstantial. So while we are not saying that sex should be silenced, we should remove the taboo around virginity.
What are the other projects in the pipeline?
We have completed a film with Sunny Leone titled Lucky, a horror-comedy which was earlier titled Kokokola is expected to release soon. I thought this is the right time to explore the genre since the audience has taken a shine to it. Films like Stree and Roohi have done really well and I am confident about our film too. We want to release the film in theaters, but if the lockdown entends, then we will take a call of releasing it on OTT. As of now, it is a wait-and-watch situation.
Any other scripts that you are working on?
Our next film tentatively titled Date featuring Tridha Choudhury and Rahul Bhat will go on floors soon. The film was supposed to go on floors this month but due to the lockdown, we couldn't start shooting. It's a thriller and if all goes well and the situation improves in the country, we are planning the first schedule in August in Dehradun.
