Imtiaz Ali on Kareena and Shahid: ‘Two days after their so-called break-up that we had to shoot’

Imtiaz Ali is one of the most loved filmmakers in the industry. In his career, Imtiaz Ali has made many successful films, but no film has managed to top the love Jab We Met has received. Jab We Met starred Kareena Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor in the lead roles. It is a known fact that Kareena and Shahid were deeply in love when they started shooting for the rom-com, but things didn't remain the same till the end as by the time they could complete filming, Shahid and Kareena had broken up.

In an interview with Galata India, Imtiaz Ali revealed how the two broke up, but this didn't affect anything on sets professionally. Imtiaz shared, "They broke up at the end of the film. Most of the film was shot. There were two days after their so-called break-up that we had to shoot. They were absolutely professional. No blemish, nothing at all, whatever is happening in their personal lives. That time Shahid and Kareena were not doing supremely well." He further added, "But these ups and downs keep happening in the lives of filmmakers and actors. But as filmmakers, we don't have to speculate like the stock market, judge what we think is right for a particular part, and only that works. This is the learning of my life."

Imtiaz Ali on Jab We Met sequel Earlier, talking about his plans to make sequels of his much-loved films, he shared that he is not sure if he should make any sequel. The director, in an interview with Pinkvilla, said, "No (laughs). No Love Aaj Kal 3 and no Jab We Met 2 as of now. I don't know whether I should make a sequel. But I never say never, though there are no plans at present. Let's see what happens. I have three scripts that I am crazily desperate to start making."
