Manish Bhushan Mishra is man of few words and prefers keeping a low profile. But, when you meet him in person, you are bound to get enlightened with the kind of knowledge that he has about cinema and his thoughts about women empowerment. Manish's first foray (as a presenter) was the women centric documentary âThe Mountain Hockey'. He is now ready with yet another women-centric film âSoch'.
Mid-Day Online met up with up with Manish for an exclusive interview, wherein he spoke about the film as well as the reason why he wants to be associated making women-centric films.
âSoch' sounds like an intriguing title. Can you cite the reason behind the title and also a bit about the film's premise?
In a nutshell, the film 'Soch' is a very a simple story about most of the Indian families today. When I started thinking about this topic, I recalled many incidents going around our society. Through this film, I just want to send a positive message to the society. As for the film's premise, its lead character Malvika is shown as an independent working girl who cares about her family totally.

Any specific reason as to why you always tend to make women centric films?
Yes, because, I have always been very close to my mom and sisters. And, I have seen them struggling through many different phases of life. That explains the reason as to why I have immense respect for womanhood. Being a filmmaker, I have responsibilities towards the society. I feel that, when I create a story or vision, it has to create an impact on the society. That's why I tend to make women centric films.
Are there any plans of making commercial films for the theaters?
Yes of course! I have signed two films. The first film is the pre-production stages, which I will make an announcement very soon. All that I can say is that, it's an out and out commercial and motivational film, which will go on floors in November 2022. The second film is also a thorough commercial film, meant for the proper theatrical release. The premise of my second film is slightly different and as they say, âzara hatke'.
