Babil Khan with Prasanna
Being the son of the late Irrfan Khan entailed years of "subconscious learning". Now, Babil Khan considers himself all the more fortunate as he is being trained in acting by his father's mentor and legendary theatre director Prasanna. Babil, who made his debut with Qala (2022), is attending Prasanna's acting workshop that will run till February 7 at his academy, Acting Shastra.
The theatre personality's bond with the family goes way back to the '80s, when he taught at the National School of Drama (NSD). Among his students was Irrfan, who went on to feature in Prasanna's plays. The late actor was said to be deeply influenced by his approach to the art. Naturally then, Babil is excited to be guided by his father's mentor. A source says, "Babil headed to Mysore earlier this week for the workshops. He is a committed student, and wants to hone his skills before taking on more acting projects. The workshop is a deep-dive into the different methods of acting," says a source.
