Dharmendra and Shabana Azmi's onscreen kiss has been a topic of discussion ever since the release of the film 'Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani' where the veteran actors played long-lost lovers. Actress Hema Malini, who is married to Dharmendra, recently said she would be okay to kiss on screen if it works with the script. In an interview with India.com, Hema claimed that she'd definitely have a kiss like her husband Dharmendra and Shabana Azmi in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani.
During the interview, Hema Malini was asked if she would be okay kissing on screen just like Dharmendra and Shabana. "Kyun nahi karenge, bilkul karenge. (Why not, why won't I) If it is nice, if it is relatable and gels with the film, maybe I can." She also added that she still hasn't watched the Karan Johar film yet.
A few weeks back when Hema Malini was in New Delhi for the launch event of her brother RK Chakravarty's autobiography, Galloping Decades she was asked about the viral kiss. Hema Malini laughed and told Times Now, "I have not seen it." She added, "I am sure people have loved the film. I am so happy for Dharam ji, because he loves to be in front of the camera all the time. He loves it."
As for Dharmendra, talking about the kiss had said, "Unfortunately, I couldn't attend the premiere, but I've received a lot of messages from people. Maine bola, âYaar, yeh toh mere daaye haath ka kaam hai (I can do this in my sleep)." As the rest of the cast of the film laughed, Dharmendra added, "Baaye haath se karwana hai, woh bhi karwa lo (I can do it effortlessly)."
