Kangana Ranaut and R Madhavan
Before you wonder if we are talking about the third instalment of director Aanand L Rai's Tanu Weds Manu franchise, we are not. Interestingly, Kangana Ranaut and R Madhavan are set to team up for a psychological thriller this time around. Sharing a dekko of commencement of the film's shooting in the Tamil Nadu capital, Kangana wrote, "Today, in Chennai, we started filming our new film, a psychological thriller. Other details coming soon. For now, need all your support and blessings for this very unusual and exciting script." The yet-untitled project is being helmed by Vijay, with cinematography by Nirav Shah and soundtrack by GV Prakash Kumar. Meanwhile, Kangana is yet to announce the new release date of her directorial venture, Emergency, after she vacated November 24 window a couple of weeks ago.

mid-day had first reported that Anil Kapoor had been approached to play Subrata Roy in his biopic, Saharasri to be produced by Sandeep Singh and Jayantilal Gada (Taking cinema ka sahara, May 11). While there was no update on the business magnate's biopic in the following months, we now hear that the actor has some apprehensions about certain controversial parts in the narrative. It is being said that the producers are looking to address those aspects as they are keen to retain Anil as they feel he is the right actor for the role. Roy passed away last week.
Shriya Saran will perform at the opening ceremony of the 54th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa today. "Performing for a live audience is always exhilarating and wonderful," says the actor, who shot the Drishyam franchise in Goa. She adds, "IFFI is a very prestigious platform, so I am honoured." She isn't willing to reveal any details of her performance "because it will take away the charm."
Shefali Shah and Vir Das are in New York for the International Emmy Awards that will be declared today. She is nominated for her performance in Delhi Crime 2, and he for his comedy special, Vir Das: Landing. She shares, "It is strange, but my make-up team asked me, âDo you remember we were in the vanity van and shooting for Delhi Crime and you were just monkeying around and making up this speech!' And I was like, âOh my God!' I mean that is amazing. But, it is such an honour to be here."
Even though Aditya Roy Kapur and Ananya Panday have remained non-committal about their relationship to the press, they are continuing with their dates. The duo was recently spotted after watching a movie together, after which they left in their respective cars. Last week, when they were photographed together, Adi seemed surprised to see that the paparazzi had landed there, while Ananya just smiled and gradually stepped out of the frame. What is amusing is the way actors behave on spotting the shutterbugs, especially when they allow their teams to leak the information of their whereabouts to the lensmen in the first place. So, what's the pretentious fuss about?
After the success of Viduthalai Part 1 earlier this year, director Vetrimaaran is gearing up for the sequel with Vijay Sethupathi and Soori. Apparently, Vijay's character, Perumal Vaathiyaar, will be explored more extensively this time around in the period crime thriller set in the 1980s. Talk is that Manju Warrier will play Vijay's wife in the second part that will focus on how Perumal rose to become a prominent rebel leader. Sources claim that Vijay and Manju's characters will be digitally de-aged to lend more authenticity to the narrative. The film is being readied for a summer 2024 release.
