Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt
Ever since Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt went public with their relationship, there has been much curiosity about when they will tie the knot. On Friday, the grapevine was abuzz with rumours that the couple is set to walk down the aisle next month. The rumour gained traction after Ranbir's mother Neetu Kapoor was spotted at couturier Manish Malhotra's studio. Later in the day, the designer was photographed visiting her home. Adding fuel to the fire are reports that suggest that Ranbir and Alia have asked for time-off from their respective projects. While it was widely speculated that they will take saat pheras after Brahmastra's release in September, the latest buzz has sent fans into a tizzy. So, will it be a summer wedding for the two? Over to the couple.
It looks like Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will have to wait a while before she begins filming Pradeep Sarkar's Binodini Dasi biopic. The filmmaker is apparently not too happy with the way the screenplay has turned out, and has sent it for a rewrite. In the interim, he will co-direct a psychological thriller starring Gulshan Devaiah and Amit Sadh. A movie based on yesteryear actor Priya Rajvansh and late filmmaker Chetan Anand is also said to be in the works. So, where does that leave Ash? We hear she is planning to allot the biopic's dates to a thriller that will be helmed by a debutant director.

In a last-minute change of plans, Sanjay Dutt and Raveena Tandon will head to Bengaluru this Sunday. The two actors will join south star Yash and director Prashanth Neel in unveiling the trailer of KGF: Chapter 2. Sanjay and Raveena, who play key roles in the actioner, were apparently not expected to be present for the trailer launch. However, after the makers decided to go the whole hog with an extravagant event to be hosted by Karan Johar, the duo were requested to grace the occasion.
Akshay Kumar's Capsule Gill is set to roll soon. Tinu Suresh Desai's directorial venture revolves around the 1989 Raniganj mining disaster that saw chief engineer Jaswant Singh Gill lead a rescue operation to save 64 miners trapped in the flooded coal mine. Interestingly, the film was to be made with Ajay Devgn, but was aborted after he had creative differences with the director. Now, four years after Devgn gave up the story rights, the movie is being backed by Vashu Bhagnani.
Shibani Dandekar-Akhtar is gearing up for her new role. The singer-model-actor is turning producer next. At a recent event, she revealed her plans, saying, "Now, I'm going to be a producer and will be producing my first show very soon. It's a web show from the fiction genre and I can't tell you anything more than that." Well, if she runs into any production woes, hubby Farhan Akhtar is always there to help. No?
Even as COVID-19 cases have seen a sharp decline in Mumbai, Lara Dutta-Bhupathi has tested positive. As a result, her residence in the city has been sealed by the municipal corporation. The remaining members of her family have not contracted the virus. The authorities, which had, by and large, done away with the containment zones, also posted a notice outside the Bell Bottom actor's home, calling it a micro-containment zone. She hasn't issued any statement to this effect.
Avinash Tiwary has ticked Sikkim off his bucket list. Keen to visit the north-eastern state since 2019, the Laila Majnu actor took off to Sikkim when he got a few days off work recently. The actor, who has returned from his trip, says he was mesmerised by Lachin and Gurudongmar lake, which is one of the highest in the world. "Drivers usually don't want to go there due to the weather. But this time, my driver got all the permits from the army and the police. It took almost an hour to reach the lake at a very high altitude, but it was worth it all. Things change swiftly around this time and while I was there, the snow was starting to melt and we had to rush down. Nonetheless, the serene experience will last forever," he beams.
Even as the shoot of his production Selfiee - which is a remake of Driving License (2019) - is underway, Karan Johar is gearing up to adapt another Malayalam film. The ace filmmaker announced that his company and an international studio conglomerate have acquired the rights to Hridayam. The coming-of-age love story, helmed by Vineeth Sreenivasan, starred Pranav Mohanlal, Darshana Rajendran and Kalyani Priyadarshan. It opened this January to positive response from critics and audiences alike.
