We know that Deepika Padukone will be playing a key role in Singham Again. Director Rohit Shetty had shared that the actor is joining his cop universe as the first police woman. It is now being said that Deepika's character is related to Ajay Devgn's Bajirao Singham. "She is like his sister," said a source, adding that Rohit's idea is to further establish the Singham family as righteous and patriotic, some of whom are ever-ready to don the uniform and serve the country. Deepika's lady cop is pivotal to the narrative with enough screen time to not only justify her character, but also pave the way for a solo ‘Lady Singham' film in the future. Scheduled to go on floors by September-end, Singham Again also has Akshay Kumar and Ranveer Singh reprising their roles as Veer Sooryavanshi and Sangram Bhalerao aka Simmba. That's not all, talk is that Tiger Shroff will also be a part of the film, playing a special role in the action drama. And of course, Kareena Kapoor Khan too will return to the franchise as Ajay's leading lady, Avni Kamat. Not to forget, Jackie Shroff, returning as the antagonist, Omar Hafeez.

Shoot me not

Sunny Deol has been rather upbeat with the advance booking of his latest offering, Gadar 2: The Katha Continues. So much so that he danced his heart out to songs like Main nikla gaddi leke at a promotional event in Ahmedabad. However, dancing too much has hurt his leg, causing him difficulty in walking. When he spotted the paparazzi at the airport, he signalled them to not click his pictures. They obediently lowered their cameras and he thanked them for their gesture.

Docuseries for awareness

There have been several questions on the necessity of a documentary, The Kashmir Files - Unreported after director Vivek Agnihotri's film last year. Explaining the reasons for the seven-episode series, producer Pallavi Joshi points out that the three-hour film was just the tip of the iceberg. "The Kashmiri Pandits left the valley with such fear that it has been 33 years and they still haven't been able to come back," she said, adding that they collected about 700 testimonies from the survivors. Since their accounts couldn't be condensed into a film, even as their voices deserve to be heard, she said, "We decided to make a docuseries so that people can understand why terrorism began, who is behind it, how the political leaders, media, and judiciary either failed or turned a blind eye to whatever was happening." She summed it up, saying, "We want to ensure that it's not repeated elsewhere in the world."

Road trip is on

It appears that Farhan Akhtar's Jee Le Zaraa is on track. A few weeks ago reports suggested that the Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt-starrer had been put on hold. It was being said that Priyanka was opting out due to a packed date-dairy with her international projects, including Citadel season 2. However, during the recent promotional interaction for Made In Heaven, Reema Kagti shared that Jee Le Zaraa will go on floors soon with the same cast. Zoya Akhtar also said that her director-brother will make his road trip film as announced. "We are just waiting for the dates," she has been quoted as saying.

The bitter truth

About two years after its release, Salman Khan and Aayush Sharma's Antim: The Final Truth is in the news again. This time around, it is being panned by Pravin Tarde, who directed the Marathi original, Mulshi Pattern (2018). Admitting that he is yet to watch the Hindi remake, Pravin said in a chat show, "After watching Mulshi Pattern, Salman praised it, saying, ‘What a film, what a film, what a film.' But when he remade Mulshi Pattern, he made a mess of it." Stating that he had nothing to do with the adaptation helmed by Mahesh Manjrekar, Pravin said, "I still haven't seen that film named Antim; I'm not going to show such daring." Upendra Limaye, who worked in both the films, added, "The sincerity Pravin showed in the film, was killed in the name of refining it."
