Rakesh Maria and Rohit Shetty
Even before he wraps up his debut web series Indian Police Force, Rohit Shetty has announced the idea of his next cop saga. This time around, the filmmaker is making a biopic on a real supercop - ex-Commissioner of Mumbai Police, Rakesh Maria. While the story is based on the experiences of the former top cop's career, the film will also borrow from his book Rakesh Maria: Let Me Say It Now. Rohit says, "He stared terror in the face for 36 years! His incredible journey spans all the
way from the 1993 blasts in Mumbai, the underworld menace, to the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks in 2008."
Nothing succeeds like success. Ask Jaideep Ahlawat, who has reportedly received a huge hike in his remuneration for the second season of his hit web series, Paatal Lok. When he first signed up for the crime thriller in 2020, the actor was apparently paid R40 lakh to essay the character of the cynical policeman Hathi Ram Chaudhary. Considering his efforts that lead to the success of the show, revolving around an investigation of an assassination attempt gone wrong, the makers of the show have upped his fee and how! Jaideep is reportedly getting about Rs 20 crore to reprise the character in the next instalment. Now, that's what you'd call a real whopper!
