Nearly three years since the release of Housefull 4 (HF4), producer Sajid Nadiadwala is contemplating a fifth instalment of the comedy franchise. This time around, he is roping in the principal cast of the first four outings. So, apart from Akshay Kumar and Riteish Deshmukh, who have been key players of the series from the onset, the next outing will see John Abraham, Abhishek Bachchan, and Bobby Deol join them in funnier situations leading to a lot more laughter than before. Sajid, who is completely involved in all his movies from the conception stage, is said to be working on a story that does justice to the reunion of his characters. If that's not enough, the filmmaker is also keen to bring together as many leading ladies of the HF franchise as he possibly can. Inside sources claim that Sajid is getting closer to cracking the plotline for the biggest instalment of the franchise. Moreover, the filmmaker would like to take HF5 on the floors by the end of 2023.

Ayushmann Khurrana has been a cricket enthusiast since his childhood. Not many know that he carries a cricket kit in his vanity van, so that he can play whenever there's some time off. During outdoor shooting schedules, he indulges in the game with the local crew rather than going back to the hotel. It also gives him the opportunity to know and bond with the crew. Ayushmann recalls being a middle-order batsman and having "played as a leg spinner at district level," during his school days. He says, "Whenever I get an opportunity to play cricket on set, I prod everyone to participate. I can get really competitive when I am on the pitch."
