Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor in Bawaal
Janhvi Kapoor and Varun Dhawan's Bawaal is in the eye of the proverbial storm for using the Holocaust to tell a story of marital discord, with a prominent Jewish rights organisation slamming it for "banal trivialisation" of the suffering of millions and asking Prime Video to take down the movie. The Simon Wiesenthal Center (SWC), dedicated to the memory of the victims of the Holocaust, criticised the film for "outlandish abuse of the Nazi Holocaust as a plot device". Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Bawaal follows a high-school history teacher Ajay Dixit (Dhawan) and his wife Nisha (Kapoor) as they go on a Europe tour where they visit prominent World War 2 sites. The film goes into a graphic recall of the Holocaust in several scenes. It features "scenes in which the protagonists enter a gas chamber in Auschwitz and are suffocated while wearing striped clothing", the Simon Wiesenthal Centre said in a statement released earlier this week. "Hitler is used as a metaphor in the movie for human greed, with the main protagonist, saying to his wife: âWe're all a little like Hitler, aren't we'?' Auschwitz is not a metaphor. It is a quintessential example of man's capacity for evil", said Rabbi Abraham Cooper, SWC Associate Dean and Director of Global Social Action.

The official Facebook page of Prabhas was hacked late Thursday and subsequently restored. The actor had previously issued a statement stating that the team was looking into the matter. Late on Thursday, two viral videos were shared on the official Facebook page of Prabhas. These were captioned âUnlucky Humans' and âBall fails around the world'. Prabhas confirmed the hack and wrote on Instagram Stories, "Hello everyone, my Facebook page has been compromised. The team is sorting this out." However, this didn't deter trolls from having a field day. Some internet users commented on his posts, stating, "Unlucky Humans are the ones who saw Adipurush (sic)." His latest outing, Adipurush, directed by Om Raut, was heavily criticised by film-goers for inaccurately portraying the Hindu mythological epic, Ramayana. Writer Manoj Muntashir subsequently apologised for his work.

As per a recent report, a popular Odia actress has alleged an Ollywood film producer of making her intimate videos and photos viral on social media. The actress
claimed these videos and photos were shot when they both shared a good relationship, but were shared online after their relationship went sour. In a police complaint lodged at Laxmisagar police station, the actress claimed that she was not aware of the producer's âreal' motives. According to the complaint, the accused not only coerced the actress into turning down offers from other producers but also failed to compensate her for the projects she had previously worked on with him.
